The collection of drawings reproduced on the postcards are made by children in Rafah in the winter of 2023-2024, while displaced by the war.
The drawings were made during workshops organised by artist and educator Basel El Maqosui (1971, Gaza). The title of the collection, “It lives in the veins and opens in the smile of a child” comes from El Maqosui’s writings on revolutions and symbolizes the sense of hope for the future, recalling the indissoluble nature of childhood.
