“Mussel hustle” is an edition of small illuminated sculptures made of twisted wire and melted, painted plexiglass which hang as a graphic cluster together with a low-wattage candle bulb from a nail on the wall.

The work itself addresses dwindling energy, natural resources, and challenges relating to acquiring nutrition.

Created in a limited edition with four pieces for Zitto Editions and made with assistance from Shirin Bahredar, these sculptural lamps are sold in exchange for a donation to Medico International, an organisation established in May 1968 that has been providing medical assistance in devastating wars for over 50 years.

Kasia Fudakowski (1985, London, England) lives and works in Berlin.
Her diverse practice, which includes sculpture, film, performance, and writing, explores social riddles through material encounters, surreal logic and comic theory.
