Two flags are painted on leather, dedicated to the Sudanese and Palestinian communities, with proceeds going to support each.

For Sudan, we invite you to donate to KURVE Wustrow, an association with roots in the pacifist and anti-nuclear movement. Since 2019, KURVE Wustrow has been cooperating with Bana Group for Peace and Development, a feminist network of human rights and peace activists in Sudan, as part of the Civil Peace Service. “The Sudanese and Palestinian flags are painted on leather as an act of solidarity with communities facing genocide, mass displacement, and societal collapse. Their shared designs and color fields, reflecting the complex pursuit of pan-Arab unity, point to struggles against oppression that are inextricably linked yet unevenly recognized.

Leather is central to my practice as an artist; a contested material that allows me to think through and beyond skin, as both a barrier and a threshold to deeper understanding and empathy. These flags are a small gesture, not meant to lessen the grief and helplessness I feel in the face of these crimes, but to insist that even the smallest contribution carries its own weight.
