Jehad Jarbou

Jehad Jarbou creates works in video, performance, writing and conceptual photography, narrating concepts of identity and displacement through images and text. She has exhibited widely in Palestine and abroad, focusing on identity, borders, memory, and structures. Her awards include third prize for The Unknown, a work addressing illegal immigration, at the Gaza International Video Art Festival at the French Institute, Gaza, in 2020; and first prize in the Imagine Freedom competition at the Walled Off Hotel, Bethlehem, in 2024. In 2022, Jehad Jarbou completed a residency at Shababeek for Contemporary Art and worked together with Italian artists on the digital exhibition Mediterranean Frequencies organized by the Tamer Institute for Community Education. She participated in the exhibition Built for the Isolated organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross in 2023 and the Gaza Artists Exhibition at the Palestinian Museum in 2024. She published a poetry book On their hearts, they walked in collaboration with photographer Moayed Abu Ammouna in 2025 and is currently developing the Mirrors project, which explores Gaza as a “prison within a prison.”
