This illustrations is part of a new project by the makers of One Million Kites, The Big Book Project. The original illustrated book, One Million Kites, focused on the stories of children who suffered and died in Gaza up until March 2024. The big book tracks these stories after this date.

It was clear to the makers of the book that their job in sharing the children of Gaza’s realities was not done after their first publication. The big book will try and cover the time from october 23 to the end (the meaning of, and when is the”end” is not clear yet).

The big book is a long project aiming to cover the expansive and deep testimonies of people who have survived (or not survived) the genocide in Gaza.
These illustrations are a part of one part of this book: the children who were killed.

For this project of the book, the creators did more than collect testimonies. They also collected information on some of the children who were killed and illustrate them in order to tell about them through their lives, through how they were killed, through what their parents shared about them.

The names of the children are included on each illustration. It is possible to google the children and learn more about their stories.
